Where is our brother Mohammed Noor righteous?

أن يتعرض الإنسان من عدوّه المحتل لبلاده القهر والقتل والسجن وصنوف التعذيب أمراً متوقعاً وغير مستغرب، لكن أن يقع عليه ذلك من بني جنسه ومن حكومته التي تدعي أنها تعمل من أجل سعادة المواطن فهذا عين الظلم الذي لايحتمل. Human exposure to the enemy occupying his country's oppression, murder, imprisonment, torture, ill be expected and not surprising, but that it is the sex of the children and his government, which claims it is working for the happiness of the citizen, it appointed the injustice that is unlikely. فظلم ذوي القربى أشد وأعظم مرارة من أي شيء وحين يكون الظلم مضاعفاً ومتجرداً من كل القيم الأخلاقية والحقوق الإنسانية تكون المأساة أكبر. Fezlm kin is harsher and more bitter than anything and when the double injustice and impartial of all moral values and human rights would be a tragedy greater.

القصة.. Story .. إن شمل أفراد الأسرة في البيت قد التأم حول مائدة الغداء في مثل هذا اليوم الإثنين 5/12/1994م، كانت الجلسة الأخيرة التي جمعتنا به مع أنه لم يشاركنا الغداء.. The family members included in the home had coalesced around a table in such a lunch on Monday 5/12/1994, was the last meeting that brought us together with him he did not share our lunch .. لأنه كان صائماً كعادته كل إثنين وخميس ..  وغادرنا لأداء صلاة العصر في مسجد " الخلفاء الراشدين " ولم يعد !! Because he was fasting as usual every Monday and Thursday .. and left to perform afternoon prayers in the mosque "Caliphs" no longer!!

في الرابعة والنصف عصراً يخرج من المسجد مع صديقٍ له وعند خروجهما يعترض طريقهما شخصان مجهولان ويأمران أخانا لوحده بالصعود إلى السيارة " لانكروزر" . In the fourth and half the afternoon out of the mosque with a friend and when they came out two unidentified object on their way and were ordering our brother alone to board the car, "to Ankeruser." وكانت الرحلة الدافعة لهذا التساؤل .. The trip was driving to this question .. أين أخونا محمد نور وأصحابه الذين تعرضوا لإختطافات مماثلة في أسمرا وكرن وغيرهما من المدن الإرترية، ولايعرف مصيرهم حتى اليوم!؟ Where is our brother Mohamed Nour and his companions who have been subjected to such abductions in Asmara to Keren and other Eritrean cities, and did not know their fate until today!?

هكذا تمت الجريمة دون مقدمات وخاتمة ... Thus was the crime without introductions and a conclusion ...

دعونا نقول شيئاً بإختصار بمناسبة إختفائه لمدة خمسة عشر عاماً لأن إختفاءه كان في مثل هذا اليوم. Let's say something briefly on the occasion of his disappearance for a period of fifteen years since his disappearance was on this day.

وُلدَ أخونا مُحمد نور أبرار في عام 1965م في العاصمة أسمرا ، اختفى مِنْ وجه الأرضِ في يوم الإثنين في 5 ديسمبر/ كانون الأول 1994م ، تزوّج وعمره يناهز 29 عاماً. Ould Mohamed Nour righteous brother in 1965 in the capital, Asmara, disappeared from the face of the earth on Monday 5 December 1994, he married at the age of 29 years. بعد مرور ثمانية أشهر من زواجه أُخْتُطِف وزوجته حبلى في شهرها السادس، وَكانت الحَادِثَة فِي  احْدَى الشوارع  الشهيرة في العاصِمَة أسمَرَا ، فوالله لاندري الآن أين أخونا محمد نور أهو حيٌ أم ميّتٌ ؟! Eight months after his marriage his wife was kidnapped and is pregnant in her sixth month, and the incident in a famous street in the capital, Asmara, Landry is now sure of where our brother Mohammed Noor Is it alive or dead?! لعلنا لاندري إلى الأبد ؟ Publicly Landry forever? ومثله الأساتذة الذين أختطفوا في نفس اليوم. And teachers like him who were abducted in the same day.

ألا رَحم الله الجميع دنيا وآخره . Not God bless all minimum and so on.

ماهي جريمته ؟! What is his crime?! أأرتكب شيئاً كبيراً ؟ Oortkp something big? مثل خيانة وطنية ؟ Such as treason and national? أم قام بقتل نفس أو تسبب في ذلك ؟ Or the killing of the same or cause it?

لمحمد نور والدة  ينفطر كبدها عليه ليل نهار، منذ إختفائه. Muhammad Nur's mother breaks her liver by day and night, since his disappearance. فما ذنبها ؟ What is her fault?  وله غلامٌ  لا يعرف أباه .. Ghulam has not known his father .. لأنه لم تُُتح له أن يراه حتى اليوم ؟! Because he did not have to see it until today?!

" وَلاَ تَحْسَبَنَّ اللهَ غَافِلاً عَمَّا يَعْمَلُ الظَّالِمُونَ إِنَّمَا يُؤَخِّرُهُمْ لِيَوْمٍ تَشْخَصُ فِيهِ الأَبْصَارُ" " (سورة إبراهيم، الآية 42) أي أنه "Think not that Allah is unaware of what the wrong-doers but to Iwkm diagnosed on the eyes" "(Surah Ibrahim, verse 42) that any مهما طال الأمد فإنَّ الحساب والعقاب آتيان لا محالة. No matter how long-term, the account and Etienne punishment is inevitable.

إن ليل الظالمين طويل، ولكن سيأتي يومٌ يواجه فيه هذا المستبد ماواجه أسلافه من قبل؟ The long night of the oppressors, but the day will come when it faces this despot Mausband his predecessors before?

ألا رحم الله الجميع الذين كانوا ضحية هذا النظام القمعي وجعلهم الله من الشهداء . Not God bless everyone who were victims of this repressive regime and making them the God of the martyrs.

We are asking about our brother: “Where is our brother Mohammed Nur now? Is he alive or dead”? This are unanswered questions!

Mohammed Nur disappeared sixteen years ago. I was with him at 2pm on December 5, 1994. At 4:30 pm on that afternoon, Mohammed Nur disappeared. It is 16 years since he was made to disappear mercilessly.

Mohammad Nur was born in Asmara, in 1965 and disappeared on December 5, 1994.

He married when he was 29 years old and eight months later, he vanished from the face of the earth leaving behind his bride who was 6 months pregnant.

Mohammed Nur was on his way to his shop with a friend when two unknown security men (kidnappers!) of the regime ordered him to enter into a “Land cruiser” car and sped away.His family doesn’t know his whereabouts for the last sixteen years—we do not know whether he is dead or alive and might not know at all.

In brief, this is what happened to our brother. Also, many others faced the same brutality as we explain about our brother as an example.

Why was he kidnapped so mysteriously? We are certain he didn’t commit any offence that would warrant his arrest. He didn’t commit any offense against his country or even against the regime.     

But we live with the hope that someday, the men who kidnapped him, and those who had a hand in his disappearance would face justice and pay for their crime.

On November 24, 2010, we read an article on the Awate.com written by Milkias Mihreteab entitled: “Tragic Tales of Eritrean Families: Mengistab Gebretinsae.”  The following quote appeared in Milkias’ article:

Only the merciful God—and the every powerful—can stop this enormous calamity and disaster that unfolded itself on Eritrea and Eritreans. It has been twenty years now. When one sees the heinous and unbelievable crimes and sadistic acts of the Eritrean regime against its own citizens.

You can imagine the deep anguish and anger of a mother. There is no worse punishment for a mother than to see her child taken away.

One day, our land will be free. It will be liberated from the demonic gangs who are now mercilessly ruling it. Like anything else in this world, Eritreans will have their time too. They will see justice and live without fear of being kidnapped, abducted, disappeared or killed. We might even have a national holiday to help us reflect and pray for the disappeared, the vanished and the missing. We might name it, meaalti be aremenawi mengsti higdef nay zitseweru.

May the Almighty God help us witness that day.
May the ever compassionate God have mercy on us.
May the ever powerful Almighty God give strength and energy to the families of the disappeared Eritreans to cope with their calamities. Amen!
