Asmara Technical School
graduates 151 students By Staff Apr

April 2006 – The Asmara Technical School on April 22
graduated 151 students, of who 66 are females upon
completion of a 3-year course in technical and
vocational training.
20 of the graduates
followed courses in construction, 15 in drawing, 20 in
planning, 21 in electronics, 19 in electricity, 13 in
metal works and 13 in general metals.
The head of
the School, Mr. Abrahaley Seyoum, said that the
government has allocated large sums of money for the
opening of technical schools and providing training and
called on the graduates to make good use of their
acquired skills.
The director general of
vocational and technical training in the Ministry of
Education, Mr. Tesfai Seyoum, on his part called on the
graduates to use their skills in advancing the
objectives of the Warsay – Yikaalo Development Campaign.
The Asmara Technical School was established in
1954 and has so far graduated 5,848 students. Senior
government officials, parents and invited guests
attended the graduation ceremony.
