How often does silence make someone guilty of calumny labeling?  What kind of message does it send to the Eritrean people when opposition organizations simulate the acts of PFDJ?  Many of us have been silent or observers per say to the negative roles and campaigns by opposition organizations and their satellites against sister opposition organizations and their leaders.  These organizations had ceded the cardinal objective of the opposition, rallying the Eritrean people and removing the dictator, instead they directed their daily activities to fabricate rumors against brave fighters for justice and their organziations.  I believe response where it deserves is appropriate.

It has been years now since some opposition organizations and their satellites have embarked in character assassination to individual leaders of EPDP and the ones that preceded it.  It is obvious these EDA member organizations have nothing to offer to the agony of the Eritrean people but to weave rumors of hate and division.  One of the organizations involved in rumor spreading drive is ENSF (Eritrean National Salvation Front) aka wideb Ahmed Nassar.  Why are they engaged in such bankrupt politics?

It started with martyr Seyoum bless his soul then to chairman Woldesus Amar and now to Ato Mesfun Hagos. The blackmail is bogus and doesn’t have any merit.  Leaders of ENSF and their brokers chose to attack innocent leaders who are fighting the dictatorship in Asmara to bring justice to hide their own hidden agenda.  Their focus on opposition leaders and specifically focus into EPDP leaders testifies that they have nothing to offer to the Eritrean people except bogus propaganda.  They don’t have a clue that in mass appeal organizations individuals are less important. 

In recent weeks under a disguised name “Alena”, we have seen series of postings on Asena.com, the masters of fabricating news, and togorba, the document manipulators, incriminating Mesfun Hagos for his tenure in EPLF.  I am not going to defend Mesfun Hagos nor try to mend his past for he is more capable but my question to the writer is, why now.  Is the accuser’s intent a solution or to create chaos and division?  If truth be told and reconciliation is needed now, let’s look at the complete mishaps of history not slices of it.  Why is Mesfun singled out from all the leaders still alive?  Is the writer politically motivated or else?  Just to remind the writer, ELF leaders have committed tons of untold crimes against humanity since the sixties and at the helm of it all is Ahmed Nassar.  Is this the right time to bring accusations and counter accusations?  Absolutely not! Because we still have the biggest elephant sitting in the house.  What is the reason these accusations are intensifying now?  Why is the writer hiding his/her identity?

The essence of such surmise accusations are meant to deflect the focus from the main identity of such organizations.  Who is ENSF?  It is the splinter group from ELF-RC in the early two thousand due to power shift.  When the leadership of ELF-RC voted democratically to elect down Ahmed Nassar and replace him by martyr Seyoum, he split with his ethnic men and formed a new organization as if we are living in a cast society. Although they adopted national political program, in reality they are ethnic organization.  Recently, Kernerleous in radio asena.com interview categorized ENSF as an ethnic organization.  Since their inception they have done little to unseat the dictator in Asmara.  But never stop attacking individual leaders, specifically within EPDP, and have been acting as the main destructors in the opposition.  What is the attention they are trying to hide?

By day, it is becoming very clear that the umbrage of Ethiopia over the ethnic organizations including ENSF is unfolding.  For a long time now it has been known that the ethnic organizations have been nurtured to carry pet projects for Ethiopia.  The Red Sea and DMLK organizations were incepted through the hand work of the Ethiopian guardianship.  The Mekele ethnic gathering, the Addis waela, and now radio wogahta brought the Ethiopians out of the shadows for their real intention.  The ethnic groups including ENSF are ready to betray Eritrean nationalism and obey their new masters all for money and power.  Is this why ENSF and their supporters have been blackmailing individual leaders and EPDP?  They want the public to focus on side issues than core national matters.

The Eritrean people need to wake up and evaluate the danger that is looming.  If we continue on the current course, we will lose our territorial integrity and unity by power driven individuals and groups.  Our national integrity shouldn’t be dropped into a bucket of compromise.  ELF and EPLF have committed grave crimes in their respective history and justice should be served at the end of the day but the million dollar question is, when is the right time.  Is this the time for accusations and counter accusations?  To whose benefit would it be to do it now?  The public should demand from each organization the blue print of their national integrity program.  Organizations that can’t offer alternative to PFDJ are bankrupt in ideas.  ENSF and their ethnic partners have nothing to offer to the people and that is why they are engaged in bankrupt politics
