Eritrean security authorities
launched a series of collectively arrests in the
directorate of Halhal, close to the city of
Keren, reports said that dozens of dignitaries
and sheikhs and teachers of the Halhal
directorate have been arrested and deported to
the city of Keren. The arrests
included:
• Mohammed Abdullah Alhaj,
sheikh of the directorate.
• Saleh Ali
Bekhit Kesuray.
• Hassen Faki
Adem.
In addition to about ten teachers
of Al-Deya'a Islamic Institute.
It is
noteworthy that the campaign of arrests and
raids during the last period has covered all
Eritrean cities; a matter which found wide
criticism by international organizations working
in the field of human rights.
