Brutal Removal of Patriarch Antonios from his home
Human Rights Concern – Eritrea is shocked at President Issaias Affewerki’s latest outrage: at 5 a.m. on 28th May, government‘s Security Agents brutally removed Patriarch Antonios from his home (where he had been held under house arrest for 16 months). His whereabouts are unknown.

Patriarch Antonios is 79 years old and suffers from diabetes. He poses no threat to the government, so what is the reason behind this sinister action.

How much longer are we in the Diaspora going to remain silent and passive while every section of Eritrean society is destroyed by the ever-spreading cancer of an uncaring government?

The problem cannot be solved by anyone other than ourselves: Eritreans in and outside the country. A show of protest across the nations where Eritreans have settled, wherever we are in the world protesting at one and the same time, so that the world has to take notice and those we have left behind can take courage from our support, is the only way to bring about change.

Our people are unemployed, starving or languishing in prison or being tortured. They need to know we have not forgotten them.

They are calling us; how much longer can we pretend to be deaf?
