487 New Eritrean
Refugees Arrived in Sudan between 3 and 9 January 2009

In the
course of one week (1/3-1/9/09), 487 Eritrean refugees have entered
Shegraib refugee camp. Sources of Eritrean People’s Party in Eastern
Sudan say majority of the new arrivals are veteran freedom fighters,
battalion commanders, and company officers.
The

On other
news, three members if the Eritrean Air Force phave abandoned the
repressive government of Eritrea and sought political asylum in Sudan
this week. Major Mussie Issac and flight technician Amir Ahmed are two
of the three members of the Eritrean Air force known to have sought
political asylum in Sudan.
